Digital Manufacturing Project Engineer - Rochester, NY Area
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead projects related to electrical and sustainability.
- Ensure compliance with relevant electrical codes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement control systems, including PLC programming, HMI design and SCADA systems.
- Develop and maintain documentation, including electrical schematics, control system diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Conduct periodic site observations and other services required by the contract service agreement.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers, process engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate electrical and control systems into manufacturing equipment and processes.
- Provide technical support and training to production teams to ensure proper operation and maintenance of electrical and control systems.
- Develop and grow a team of automation engineers as needed.
YOUR SKILLS
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- Some experience in PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens), HMI design, and SCADA systems.
- Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, including power distribution, motor control, and instrumentation.
- Strong critical thinking, problem solving, prioritization, and data analysis skills.
- Must have familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations, such as NEC, NFPA, and UL standards.
- Experience with CAD software for electrical design (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN) is preferred.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel.
- Must be able to adapt to changing priorities and execute effectively to launch and capital execution deadlines.
- Ability to coach and lead others to achieve results, following all safety, quality, and productivity policies and procedures
- 5-10 years work experience in a manufacturing environment fulfilling an electrical engineer role or similar.
- 0-3 years experience in PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens), HMI design, and SCADA systems.
